Ritu Bhat is the Owner and Chief Creative Director of India inspired clothing brand, Ritu Selects. Ritu Selects was founded in 2012 and currently has two designer showrooms in the USA (Charlotte, NC and Houston, TX)and a sourcing team and workshop located in Mumbai, India.Ritu grew up in the vibrant city of Mumbai, India and her brand represents the energy and elegance of her background. Her quest to uniquely showcase ethnic outfits that uses the right balance of high-quality Indian craftsmanship with modern elegant designs has led her to start this business. Over time she has managed to create a skillful team of emerging designers, tailors and craftsmen that understand and implement her vision. She has successfully grown her business and now owns two storefronts in USA with 2000+ sq. ft. area of Indian couture for Women, Men & Kids.
About Ritu Selects
Ritu Selects specializes in creating and bringing ethnic Indian and fusion wears to USA. The brand has participated in various local and national fashion events like NCFA Style Week, Charlotte International Fashion Week and has styled many fashion celebrities including Miss United States 2014 Elizabeth Safrit. They have also designed for the NBA Charlotte Hornets cheer leaders Honeybees and for NY Brooklyn nets for their half-time performance in year 2018 & 2019. Ritu has been featured on Local and international television channels like TVAsia, WCCB, WBTV and FOX Charlotte. Her brand often participates in philanthropic runway fundraisers where she can contribute to the society using her fashion skills.

Before opening her business, Ritu has been a customer of Indian clothing for long. Her taste has always been high-end couture and this often challenged her budget. This encouraged her to find the right source, customize & tailor certain portions herself & create something that is unique & fitted her just right without breaking her bank.Her passion for Indian clothing, knowledge in quality craftsmanship &her tailoring skills (thanks to her mommy) finally lead her to start Ritu Selects!

We often repeat our startup journey in our minds so that we can keep “Our clients front and center of everything we do”! Every product we make must meet our benchmark on “Class, Comfort & Affordability”. We also believe that finally “The product should feel right & fair to the customer”, hence we like to keep our store environment relaxed, pricing fixed & fair and no pushy sales.

How do we keep our quality high while prices low?

Class & Comfort meets Affordability –statements like this are often quoted by most businesses however this is not an empty statement for us. This is the soul of our business; we want to keep working on this for our clients. This has always been challenging and will always be challenging, but that’s the fun, we are in this to manage this challenge every day!

To keep our quality high, we work with like minded partners. We never deal in bulk sourcing/trading or Bollywood replica products that look great in images but lack the detailing needed. Business should feel fun &soulful and not just business for the sake of making a cut, if you understand what I mean.

To keep prices low we understand the art of scale, hence we have two stores across USA (Charlotte, NC and Houston, TX) – this helps us reduce costs and optimize time of our talented craftsmen & designers. Our team is highly focused on creating products that sell which in-turn helps us keep our prices low!
